THE MAHNOMEN COUNTY REDISTRICTING PLAN

The Mahnomen County Board of Commissioners approved the County Commissioners Redistricting Plan at their regular scheduled meeting held on March 20, 2012. The Redistricting Plan has changed four out of the five commissioner district boundaries. This Redistricting Plan will be effective for the upcoming 2012 election. All five Commissioners will be up for election.

The five Commissioner Districts are established as follows:

  • Commissioner District #1 shall consist of the City of Mahnomen. This district is the only district that has not changed.

  • Commissioner District #2 shall consist of the City of Bejou and the Townships of Bejou, Clover, Gregory, Heier, Island Lake, Marsh Creek, Chief and Beaulieu. Clover Township has been added to this district.

  • Commissioner District #3 shall consist of the Townships of Little Elbow and Twin Lakes. The Township of Clover has been moved out to other district and the township of Little Elbow has been added.

  • Commissioner District #4 shall consist of the Townships of Pembina, Popple Grove and Rosedale. The City of Waubun has been moved out to other district and the Township of Rosedale has been added.

  • Commissioner District #5 includes the Townships of LaGarde, Lake Grove, Oakland and the City of Waubun. The Townships of Little Elbow and Rosedale have been moved out to other districts and the City of Waubun has been added.

The term of office for Commissioner Districts #1, #4 and #5 shall be for four (4) years, effective January 2013.

The term of office for Commissioner District #2 and #3 shall be for two (2) years, effective January 2013.

Mahnomen County is wholly contained within Congressional District #7, State Senate District #2 and State Representative District #2B.

At this point in time, all polling places shall remain the same with the exception of the seven (7) mail ballot precincts of Bejou, Chief, Gregory, Lake Grove, Little Elbow, Oakland and Rosedale Township(s).
