Engineering Technician

The Mahnomen County Highway Department is currently accepting applications for the following full time position: Engineering Technician.

The Engineering Technician position performs a variety of technical work in the surveying, preliminary design, construction and maintenance of public facilities and infrastructure for the County.  Primary duties will be to act as the construction supervisor for road and bridge construction projects. Essential functions include highway and bridge design using AutoCad software, construction material testing, and construction inspection.  Applicants holding MnDOT certifications in Aggregate Production, Grading & Base, Asphalt Plant and Street, Concrete Plant & Field are preferred. Bridge Safety inspection certification is also desirable.

Applicants must have completed a two year college or vocational civil engineering technician curriculum and two years construction or engineering technician experience is desirable, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Deputy Auditor/Financial  

The Mahnomen County Auditors Office is currently seeking an experienced individual for the position of Deputy Auditor.  This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of complex general accounting, clerical, election and related technical duties for the County along with various other assigned duties.  The individual must also have good written and oral communications skills and the ability to pay attention for details and accuracy.  This position has the desired minimum qualifications of an A.A. degree in accounting, business, computer or a closely related field with two years of accounting experience preferably in the public sector or with any equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.  The ability to work with the public in a professional and efficient manner is essential.  The range of pay shall commensurate with the applicable County Salary Schedule which currently begins at $13.94 per hour.  Benefits are available upon the satisfactory completion of the six-month probationary period. The Courthouse hours are currently Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  (40 hours per week)
